Governor Dayton Visits Willmar Care Center on Economic Growth Tour

WILLMAR – Governor Mark Dayton recently visited Willmar Care Center in the city of Willmar, Minnesota as part of a statewide listening tour to identify both opportunities for future economic growth and barriers to that growth in the key sector’s of the state’s economy. The tour will focus on eight high-potential sectors of Minnesota’ economy including forestry, bioscience, mining, agriculture technology, information technology, the plastics and composite industry, tourism, and health care technology.

In explaining the purpose of his tour Governor Dayton said, “In the coming months, I am going to be traveling across Minnesota to listen to industry leaders and workers across the state about the challenges they are facing and what we can do in the next legislative session to put more Minnesotans back to work.”

As part of his effort to meet with leading health care companies, Dayton made a visit to Willmar Care Center. He visited with several residents and staff members including Administrator, Dawn Broesder; Social Services Director, Tricia Seymour; and Regional Director, Clayton South. Residents enjoyed meeting with the Governor as they had the opportunity to ask him questions and converse on an individual level. Residents also had a chance to talk with Senate Candidate, Lyle Koenen; Representative Candidate, Mary Sawatzky and Representative, Andrew Faulk.
